Biocarst selected to participate in Deep Tech ClimAccelerator

We are proud to announce that Biocarst is among 15 deep-tech start-ups selected to participate in Deep Tech Clim Accelerator 2026.

DeepTech Clim Accelerator Serbia is designed specifically for science-driven startups at TRL 3+, acknowledging the realities of deep-tech development. The program combines expert-led masterclasses, tailored one-to-one mentorship, and structured climate impact assessment using Climate KIC.

A key feature of the program is its focus on measurable impact and investment readiness. In addition to technical and commercial support, selected startups may have the opportunity to access Climate-SAFE , a founder-friendly SAFE investment instrument offered by Climate KIC, subject to separate evaluation. This creates a bridge between early validation and future financing—without forcing premature equity decisions.

The program culminates in a Demo Day , connecting startups with investors, corporates, and ecosystem leaders, and continues with post-program support through EPICenter and Climate KIC.

Biocarst Secures Two Early-Stage Grants to Advance Carbon Removal Technology

We’re proud to share that Biocarst has been awarded two early-stage grants: Raising Starts by the Science and Technology Park Belgrade and the StarTech grant funded by Philip Morris Serbia.

This support has enabled us to advance our biohybrid mineral carbonation technology to TRL 3 (laboratory proof of concept). Through these projects, we have validated key components of the process and established a solid scientific and technical foundation.

Biocarst is developing a solution that transforms magnesium-rich mine tailings into carbon sinks, combining CO₂ removal with stabilization of hazardous materials such as asbestos-containing waste.

With this milestone achieved, we are now focused on the next step: demonstration at pilot scale on real tailings sites.

We are currently seeking investment and strategic partners to support the deployment of our first on-site demonstration projects and accelerate the transition from lab to field.

If you are interested in collaborating or supporting the next phase of development, we would be glad to connect with you, please find contact information on a Team page.
