Dr. Srđan Stanković
Dr. Srđan Stanković is a geomicrobiologist and Senior Research Associate at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Biology, specializing in microbe–mineral interactions and environmental biotechnology .
His research focuses on biomineralization, biohydrometallurgy, and CO₂ mineralization processes, with particular expertise in magnesium-rich systems such as serpentinite tailings. He has extensive experience working at the interface of microbiology, geochemistry, and mineral processing, including research positions at international institutions such as the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) in Germany .
Dr. Stanković has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications in the fields of environmental microbiology, applied biotechnology, and mineral carbonation, contributing to the development of sustainable technologies for resource utilization and environmental remediation .
At Biocarst, he serves as Chief Scientific Officer, leading the development of biohybrid technologies for carbon capture and stabilization of mine tailings, translating fundamental scientific research into scalable environmental solutions.
